The State of Hawaii has ranked #4 on the list of healthiest states put together by the United Health Foundation. Hawaii ranked #5 last year on the list and was last ranked #1 on the list in 2008.The states that took the first few spots on the American Health Rankings list in 2011 were Vermont, New Hampshire and Connecticut. The least healthy states on the list were Mississippi, Louisiana and Oklahoma.

It is great that Hawaii is moving up on the list. This means that the people living in the state of Hawaii are increasing their health standards and are striving for a healthier life style. Hawaii still has some things to improve on however in order to take the #1 spot once again. A few of these categories would include prenatal care and lowering the binge drinking that takes place. Hopefully, if Hawaii works on some of these areas, we will once again be named the #1 healthiest state in the nation!
